JEREMIAH JOHNSON
Jeremiah carries coaching certification with the United States Soccer Federation, United Soccer Coaches ( formerly NSCAA), Coerver Coaching, and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS). As a two-time MSHSL Class AA Section Coach of the Year, his programs hold all-time Minnesota State HS records for shutouts in a season and GK shutouts in a career. He has coached 4 All-Americans, a Gatorade Player of the Year, Ms. Soccer Minnesota award recipients, numerous NCAA college soccer players, and multiple professional players. His players have also earned Academic Team All-American awards on three occasions.
As a goalkeeper, Jeremiah won multiple youth State Cups as a member of Bangu F.C. (now MN Thunder Academy), a regular in the Minnesota & Region II Olympic Development Program (ODP), and played NCAA Division I collegiate soccer on full scholarship at Mercer University before retiring due to injury .

CATCHING & DIVING
Catching technique is second only to footwork in developing a solid goalkeeper. The dive can be the most spectacular save in soccer, with the GK flying out of nowhere to keep the ball from crossing the goal line.
FOOTWORK & AGILITY
Good footwork is the foundation of solid goalkeeping. If a GK has quick and efficient movement, they can get themselves into position to make the easy catch, rather than having to rely on dive to balls at the edge of their reach.
DISTRIBUTION & DECISION MAKING
The GK position is one of the most psychologically demanding on the soccer field. Mistakes are final. The glory is often reserved for the players at the other end of the field. Goalkeeping is not for everybody.
